In cooperation with the New Valley Governorate, Al Tarfa Desert Sanctuary has successfully completed the general assessment and survey of a vast dune area in the heart of Dakhla Oasis. Believing that such pristine environment should be preserved and properly managed, the Governorate of the New Valley has recently declared a 7 sq/km of matchless sand-formation, enclosing a complex dune-system with salt depressions, sanded-up wells and buried gardens, a Local Desert Park.
