In the course of documenting the marvelous and precious cultural and natural heritage of the Egyptian oases, Al Tarfa Desert Sanctuary has successfully completed the “Dakhla Oasis Architecture Documentation Project”. Financed by Camps & Lodges (Al Tarfa’s owning company) the project aimed to document the unique architectural heritage within the lodge’s surrounding villages. Twenty-eight original oil paintings, by some of Egypt’s most acknowledged artists (Fathy Ali, Farid Ateyya, Yasser Al Qurani and others) are now displayed at Dar Al Mona and Beit Al Waha, Al Tarfa’s characteristic lounge and reception salons.
